New info about Killzone: Mercenary revealed by a Polish publication
The longley announced first-person shooter Killzone: Mercenary was featured as a cover story in the latest issue of the Polish gaming magazine PSX Extreme, which revealed some new info about this PS Vita exclusive.
Killzone: Mercenary is made in the same engine as the console Killzone games, a modified version of the Havok engine. PSX Extreme claims that the game looks on pair with the Killzone 3, even surpassing it in some areas, and managing a stable frame rate despite the huge draw distance and detailed textures.
Like its name suggests, players of Killzone: Mercenary will control mercenaries instead of ISA forces, which means that they’ll be able to work for both ISA and Helghast. It’s confirmed that the game will utilize Vita’s touch screen and rear touch panel. It’s also worth mentioning that this is the first Killzone game that’s not directly developed by Guerilla Games. Instead, SCE Guerilla Cambridge has the lead role in its development.
Sony announced that it’ll release more details about Killzone: Mercenary this week. Hopefully, one of those details will be the game’s exact release date. For now, all we know is that Killzone: Mercenary will be launched worldwide sometime this year.
