Atlus porting original Shin Megami Tensei to iOS, Android to follow

Legendary 1992 SNES JRPG Shin Megami Tensei will be coming to iOS devices next month, Atlus announced in a short press release sent to us a couple of hours ago.

Not only will iOS gamers get a chance to play this seminal role-playing game that started both SMT franchise and its popular Persona spin-off series, but this release will also mark the first time the said game got an official English translation and is getting published outside of Japan. That’s right, the above mentioned March release window isn’t Japan-only, Shin Megami Tensei will be launching worldwide in less than three weeks’ time. Yup, that means we already have a release date at hand – it’s March 18th.

Better yet, Atlus also revealed the game’s price tag – $7.99 with no additional in-app purchases. Unofficially, we’re told that an Android port of Shin Megami Tensei will happen eventually… well, Android localization will happen eventually, to be specific. Expected release date? Late spring to early summer.

In any case, we’ll be sure to let you know once the said JRPG is officially out on iTunes App Store and will follow up with any Android-related updates, so stay tuned.
